About Me

Hi, I’m Alicia B. (Alicia Brown)

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Pronouns: She/Her

Location: Broward County, FL

My journey to becoming a psychotherapist came very naturally given my extensive history within the mental health field. I grew up in Brooklyn, New York, where mental health plagued the streets, but mostly ignored. I am the youngest of six siblings, which has had a huge impact on my curiosity about how identities are shaped and how to navigate different spaces, perspectives and personalities. This curiosity led me to my path of mental health. I received my B.S. in Psychology from University of Bridgeport and an MSW from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. I have worked in schools, mental health treatment centers, trauma centers, and hospital settings, with medically and psychologically complex patients with chronic illness.

I began working with a diverse population of adolescents, adults and families, with a variety of stressors, to help them transform their lives and relationships through individual, group and family therapy. I utilize culturally informed integrated treatment models in all services provided. I have extensive training in many modalities and therapeutic approaches. As a therapist, I am collaborative, exploratory and realistic, which also means that I will challenge you to expand your perspective about yourself, emotions, thoughts, behaviors, relationships, family dynamics, etc.
